“Hi, how is it going? How about your head?” A red glare and a desperate smile instead of an answer. My teeth turned black after wine. That’s how we said hi each day. Tough times. “How was it, Rembrandt?” they welcome me back home. “What did you do?” “Just two such… but Železný pointed to it and nodded.” “Well, you better be sure he was not thinking he’d never seen such a silly thing.” I agree with the older and more experienced and try to relax the professional interview with photos. “This is what half a litre of white looks like, and this is a litre of red,” my mom thinks, the only person who can tell how much you had to drink without blood samples or breath analysis. “What is this? Who is this? That’s what fame is supposed to be like?” my dad is losing his temper. True, the pictures didn’t turn out that well. All the people I took pictures of had either their backs toward the camera, or we standing behind one another. “That’s material you can just throw away.” But enough of that. Mikulov was a fairy tale, truly modern, anarchistic. Chateau without a cruel lord, no dragons or bandits. Just music, paintings, statues, people, with plenty to eat and drink. “That’s work of the devil”, ancestors would be appalled. Nay! That’s just a few competent people and sensible people having done a good thing. I’m glad I could be there.
